Description
Southern Rural Water provides forward notice that procurement of a contractor to undertake stage 4 and 5 of the Werribee Irrigation District modernisation project will commence in November 2021. The project involves replacing aging irrigation channels with pipelines and upgrading customer outlets. A majority of the installation work can only be carried out between irrigation deliveries in the low demand period from mid-May to mid-August.
The contractor’s scope will include;
Stage 4 (Seperable Portion A)
Installation of approximately 7.9 kilometres of pipelines ranging in size from DN1000 to DN300 and 20 customer outlets. The works are scheduled to commence mid–April 2022 and be completed by mid–August 2022.
Stage 5 (Separable Portion B)
Installation of approximately 8.3 kilometres of pipelines ranging in size from DN675 to DN300 and 63 customer outlets. The works are scheduled to commence mid-May 2023 and be completed by mid – August 2023.
Pipes and flow meters will be supplied by Southern Rural Water. All other materials are to be supplied by the contractor. Automation of the upgraded customer outlets will be by others.
The procurement will be an open tender using Tenderlink. Indicative key dates for the procurement are as follows;

Contract award – 28th February 2022
The Victorian government’s Social Procurement Framework, Victorian Industry Participation policy and Major Projects Skills Guarantee will apply to this procurement.
Contractors must be OFSC accredited.
