Contract Details
Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant is currently serving Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) areas in B Block at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
The upgrade works comprise of replacing the existing RO plant with new RO plant for to serve the existing 2No Cart Washers, 7No Batch Washers and 2No ultrasonic washers with consideration for redundancy to ensure continued operation and to minimise downtime. The upgrade works detailed will allow for the new RO water treatment Plant, new stainless steel RO pipework reticulation and modifications to existing equipment.
The Australian Standard AS5369 stipulates the minimum requirements for the effective and safe reprocessing of Reusable medical devices (RMDs) in Hospitals.
RMDs are used for diagnostic and/or treatment purposes for multiple patients and are intended by the manufacturer for reprocessing and reuse therefore the effective and safe reprocessing of RMDs is essential to protect patients and staff.
The new RO systems shall comply with the water quality requirements of AS5369.
The chosen contractor’s role is as the Head Contractor and must coordinate and be solely responsible for all the other sub-contractors:
