North East Water is seeking to engage the services of Principal Contractors to systematically dry and move primary sludge in lagoons at the Yackandandah and Benalla Wastewater Treatment Plants. Additionally, bio-solids at North Wangaratta require further drying, exporting and stockpiling.

The successful contractor/s will be responsible for screening of primary treated sludge to remove foreign material, drying, stockpiling, cataloguing and transporting bio-solids for storage from Benalla to Wangaratta and from Yackandandah to Wodonga. Lagoons at both sites will require either airdrying or mechanical de-watering.

A site visit will be mandatory by any tendering contractor.  A recently completed sludge survey report will also be provided to the contractors to understand volumes associated with the lagoons.

Contractors have the option to tender for:

• Both airdrying and mechanical dewatering; or
• Airdrying only; or
• Mechanical dewatering only.
