Contract - ITS2-00415
Contract Details
Cape Conran Boat Ramp is located within the Cape Conran Coastal Park, approximately 420 km East of Melbourne. The natural significance of Cape Conran Coastal Park is a key driver of local tourism and the immediate area surrounding the facility is of significant environmental and aboriginal cultural heritage importance. The facility is situated within the natural variability of the rocky coastline with some rocky reef features located immediately offshore of the ramp. The Parks Victoria managed facility is the only direct ocean access boat ramp between Lakes Entrance and Mallacoota, and a key access point for the Beware Reef Marine Sanctuary.
The project acknowledges the aboriginal cultural landscape of Cape Conran and is committed to collaborating with Traditional Owners in a meaningful way. As part of the State Governments commitment to improving recreational boating across Victoria, the Cape Conran Ramp facility is getting an upgrade. Identified in the Better Boating Victoria (BBV) action plan for 2021-22, there is a demand for better facilities such as improved boat ramp gradient for vessel launching and retrieval, extended jetty berthing and more reliable navigable access.
