The water supply responsibilities of North East Water (NEW) include the operation of the Beechworth, Corryong, Myrtleford, Rutherglen and Tallangatta potable water supply systems. To improve the supply to these towns several watermains are to be renewed. The watermains are as follows:
• Crawford Street Beechworth, 327m of 100mm,
• Zwar Avenue Beechworth, 100m of 100mm
• Murray Valley Hwy Corryong, 545m of 150mm & 50mm HDPE
• Lowerson & Macauley Grove Myrtleford, 340m of 100mm
• O’Donnell Avenue Myrtleford, 450m of 100mm
• Church & Murray Street Rutherglen, 405m of 100mm
• Akuna Avenue Tallangatta, 357m of 100mm
• Wonga Grove Tallangatta, 187m of 100mm
As a result North East Water is seeking suitably qualified contractors to construct the proposed watermains throughout these towns. The works will be delivered under a design and construct contract.
North East Water has completed a preliminary design that should be viewed as indicative only, this will be issued as part of an RfT to the open market seeking to engage a Principal Contractor.
