Description

The Department of Education and Training invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from appropriately qualified and experienced Suppliers to review, redesign and pilot the Employer Satisfaction and Skills Survey.

The Organisation seeks to gain a more detailed understanding of the supplier market to provide these services. Hence, this EOI Process may be the first stage of a multi-stage procurement process.

BACKGROUND

The Victorian Department of Education and Training has been conducting the Employer Satisfaction and Skills Survey (Employer Survey) since 2014. The Employer Survey approaches a broad range of Victorian employers to seek their opinion on industry skills needs and the quality of training delivered through Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). The information from the survey plays a key role in improving the quality and alignment of the vocational training and TAFE system with industry needs.

The Employer Survey contains two separate questionnaires designed to collect information from two different employer cohorts:

  • Questionnaire for employers of apprentices and trainees — the purpose of this questionnaire is to seek feedback from employers of apprentices and trainees about their satisfaction with the training and outcomes provided by specific training providers with which they have a relationship. Employers of apprentices and trainees who use more than one training provider are asked to provide feedback on up to three of the providers they used in the past year.

  • Questionnaire for general Victorian businesses — the purpose of this questionnaire is to collect information from a sample of Victorian businesses on their views about their workplace skill experiences and challenges, how this impacts upon their businesses, and the strategies used to address them, including training. The sample of Victorian businesses reflects the composition of the Victorian business population across industry, business sizes and geographical locations. Employers of apprentices and trainees from the sample are asked questions from this questionnaire and questions about their satisfaction with training and outcomes with specific training providers.
