The Department is seeking suitably qualified and experienced parties to provide a freight service for Victorian charities.

The Victorian State Government has for several decades provided free freight services to eligible charitable organisations. Prior to 2007 the service was based on utilisation of spare capacity on the railway network. Following the discontinuation of some railway services in 2007, a decision was made to continue the charity freight service as a road-based service.
