Regional Risk Assessment and Synthesis Reporting for the onshore natural Gas water science studies

The Victorian Government is undertaking a major program of studies to examine the potential impacts of possible onshore natural gas development on Victoria’s water resources. The Victorian Government has nominated the Department of Environment and Primary Industries (DEPI) to lead the onshore natural gas water science studies. An independent Scientific Reference Panel will review the design of and results from the water science studies. Regional risk assessments of the potential risks from onshore gas developments to groundwater and water related assets in the Gippsland and Otway Basins are required. Synthesis reporting will bring together and summarise the investigations undertaken for all works undertaken for the onshore natural gas water science studies.
