The overall objective of the information system:

1. a)  To improve client outcomes inline with Barwon Health’s strategic priorities

2. b)  A system that provides quality user experience and user interface

3. c)  An integrated system which will assist with providing connected care across our services and a positive experience for those we serve

4. d)  Deliver significantly improved quantifiable health outcomes

5. e)  Provide a platform that supports mobile devices

6. f)  To provide an established, integrated database for the Barwon Health Community programs, Hospital in the Home, Community Nursing, Day Programs and Post-Acute Care Services

7. g)  Enable improvement to productivity via the reduction of manual processes with the application of automated workflows.

8. h)  To improve ease and accuracy of collection of data for statutory and management reporting

9. i)  To implement a software package which will capture assessment and care planning in a standardised format across various programs

10. j)  To ensure that all programs are using the most recently revised assessment and care planning forms

11. k)  To implement an online documentation system that is accessible to all relevant users in any environment across Barwon Health (i.e.: home, office and on the road) and is 90% paperless
