Description

Supply of Hearing Services to WorkSafe Injured Workers

In accordance with Victorian workers compensation legislation, WorkSafe Victoria can pay the reasonable costs of approved hearing services and hearing devices to assist workers in the rehabilitation of work‑related injuries or illness. Hearing services and devices can only be provided by audiologists or audiometrists approved by WorkSafe. Approval can be sought by completing the form Application for Registration to Provide Services to Workers available at www.worksafe.vic.gov.au.

Hearing Service providers are either contracted or non-contracted:

  • Contracted hearing service providers are approved hearing service providers who have entered into a contract with WorkSafe to provide hearing services and hearing devices in accordance with workers’ compensation legislation and the contract terms and conditions.
  • Non-contracted hearing service providers are approved hearing service providers that have not entered into a contract with WorkSafe and can provide hearing services and hearing devices in accordance with workers’ compensation legislation and relevant guidelines issued by WorkSafe which include the Hearing Services and Devices Policy and the published Fee Schedule for non-contracted Hearing Services providers.

The current Hearing Services contracts expire on 15 June 2019.

WorkSafe will be releasing a Request for Tenders (RFT) on Wednesday 28 November 2018 to establish a panel of providers for up to a five year contract term (3 year initial term plus 2 year option to extend). All interested suppliers are encouraged to respond. RFT documentation will be available for download from the Victorian Government Tenders website: www.tenders.vic.gov.au following tender release.

A non-mandatory Briefing Session will be held from 9.30am-11am on Tuesday 27 November 2018 at WorkSafe Head Offices, 1 Malop St, Geelong. You must register your intention to attend the briefing by email to [email protected], by 5pm Friday 23 November 2018, including a list of your organisation’s representatives (maximum 3). Please present to WorkSafe reception by 9.15am on 27 November 2018 to be escorted to the auditorium. All interested suppliers are encouraged to attend. Interested respondents are invited to submit any preliminary questions in advance of the briefing session, to enable WorkSafe to address these questions at the briefing for the benefit of all providers (unless deemed commercially sensitive by WorkSafe).

All enquiries in relation to the tender must be directed to the Authorised Tender Contact person, Zoe Eagle, via email to [email protected]. Respondents are reminded they should not approach any other WorkSafe staff in relation to the RFT.
