The Department of Economic Development, Jobs Transport and Resources (DEDJTR) drives economic development and job creation across Victoria, incorporating transport and ports, investment attraction and facilitation, trade, agriculture, creative industries, and resources.

As part of the Victorian Gas Program (VGP), the Geological Survey of Victoria (GSV), within DEDJTR’s Resources Division, is undertaking a review of the stratigraphy of the Victorian Otway Basin, with the emphasis on the onshore basin. The purpose of the VGP Otway Basin biostratigraphy study is to provide new or revised age data from available legacy core to better constrain a revised stratigraphic interpretation of the onshore Otway Basin. Review of previous age determinations, including their existing geographic and stratigraphic coverage is also within scope.

The Otway Basin biostratigraphy study is divided into two components, (1) palynology and (2) micropalaeontology. Potential suppliers are invited to tender for one or both elements of the study.
