Description

The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) is a government-owned organisation, established under the TA Act to reduce the social and financial cost of transport accident injuries to the Victorian community. We pay for treatment and support services for people injured in transport accidents, promote road safety in Victoria and improve the state’s trauma system.

The TAC may require a person who was injured as a result of a transport accident and makes a claim for, or receives compensation, to submit from time to time for examination by one or more medical service providers nominated by the TAC under section 71 of the Transport Accident Act 1986 (TA Act).

The role of an Independent Medical Examiner or Independent Impairment Assessor is to undertake an independent medical examination and provide a report based on their professional opinion and expertise to assist the TAC in making relevant decisions in accordance with the TA Act.

The TAC invites submissions of Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitable medical service providers to become Independent Medical Examiners and/or Independent Impairment Assessors for the TAC.
