Description

Epsom Water Reclamation Plant (WRP), which treats wastewater from Bendigo and a number of surrounding towns. The plant is a biological nutrient removal (BNR) activated sludge plant (ASP), with tertiary filtration and a Recycled Water Factory. The plant treats and average dry weather flow (ADWF) of around 18 ML/d currently. The plant has been upgraded and modified over time, and now include following treatment units: inlet works, including band screens, vortex grit removal system; BNR ASP; Alum dosing; Lagoon storage; Gravity sand filters; and Disinfection.

Disinfection is provided by a channel UV system and the treated effluent is distributed between the Bendigo Creek under EPA Licence, a Class B reuse customer, and a Class A production facility (the Bendigo Recycle Water Factory).  Coliban Water has determined that the non-civil components of the UV system have reached the end of their useful lives and require replacement. The intention is that the project will be delivered via a performance-based Design and Construct (D&C) contract.
