Description

CarbonNet is a project within the Department of the Victorian State Government which has been granted multiple Greenhouse Gas (GHG) tenements in the Gippsland Basin, Victoria. An Appraisal Program has been developed to assess the capacity and suitability of the tenement(s) for commercial scale storage of CO2. The Appraisal Program includes two principal activities; marine 3D seismic survey (Seismic Survey) and the drilling and testing of an offshore appraisal well. This scope of work is for Seismic Management and Coordination Services (SMCS) associated with the Seismic Survey.

The objective of the Seismic Survey is to acquire conventional marine streamer 3D seismic data in summer 2017-18 over a prospective site to delineate structure and stratigraphy and form the baseline for a future timelapse 4D survey. The Seismic Survey will need to capture data as close to the shoreline as possible, with a nominal limit of 15m water depth. A base-case 3D survey design has been produced by Schlumberger Design Solutions. Department also has high-quality LiDAR bathymetry which clearly identifies all seabed features, conditions and water depths across the planned survey area. Additional details regarding technical considerations for this survey will be provided to the successful tenderer.
