Fisheries Victoria, of the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources, seeks to engage the services of a suitably qualified and experienced provider to deliver annual scientific assessments of the Victorian rock lobster and giant crab fisheries.

The rock lobster and giant crab fisheries are managed under a Quota Management System, which allocates annual catch allowances to licence holders. The annual allocation is determined through the results of stock assessments and application of harvest strategies as described in the management plans for each fishery.

The Service Provider will undertake the annual stock assessments for both fisheries and will be involved in disseminating the results to government, commercial fishing industry and other relevant stakeholders in the form of written reports, presentations and participation in meetings.
