Rebuilding Bushfire Affected Communities in Victoria
Calling for Expression of Interest (EOI) to Design & Construct Single Detached House in Marysville and Kinglake
The Victorian Government is challenging the ingenuity and efficiency of the design and building industry to stimulate the rebuilding effort by providing well designed, affordable, energy efficient and bushfire compliant BAL-40 houses for Victorian’s bushfire prone areas.
Department of Human Services in conjunction with the Victorian Bushfire Reconstruction and Recovery Authority and the Office of the Victorian Government Architect are now inviting proposals from registered builders and architects team to ‘Design and Construct’ a 3 bedroom single detached house that is affordable, well-considered in design, innovative and energy efficient. The house must meet the Bushfire Attack Level (BAL 40) requirements of the Victorian Government’s new residential building standard introduced in March 2009.
