Victorian Ombudsman (VO) is responsible for ensuring fairness for Victorians in their dealings with the public sector and improving public administration.

Our day-to-day work involves:

• taking complaints about administrative actions of state government departments, bodies established by legislation (e.g. WorkSafe, VicRoads) and local councils (and some private organisations acting on behalf of those bodies)
• making enquiries and resolving complaints informally where possible
• investigating when needed and making recommendations for change
• receiving and investigating complaints under the Protected Disclosure Act 2012 (Vic)
• examining systemic problems in public administration

This RFT seeks to select a best of breed IT Supplier who has proven capability in delivering IT support services that will be an enabler for Victorian Ombudsman (VO) to deliver on its mission.

VO is interested in an outcomes focused response to this Tender and would encourage invitees to identify where VO’s view of a service is not in line with industry best practices or the invitees standard service and may contribute to additional risk or cost. We are open to advice and will accept proposals that offer alterative ways to deliver these services.

IT is VO’s preference to have all the services managed by one provider – a single relationship/interface for us to manage. VO will however accept single supplier led consortiums. The only service that we would accept an independent bid on is Security, but this is not our preferred approach.

As we are working within the framework of the Victorian Government Procurement Board, the procurement rules set by the Buying for Victoria Supplier Portal (in particular the Supplier Code of Conduct which can be found at https://buyingfor.vic.gov.au/supplier-code-conduct) must be respected.

A Briefing Session will be conducted to provide the purpose, overview and compliance requirements of this tender. It is highly recommended that you attend this briefing to better understand our approach and requirements.
