On 21 September 2018 the Andrews Government announced a $128 million commitment to deliver the third and final stage of the Geelong Performing Arts Centre Redevelopment, a bold, multi-year programme of works to transform Geelong’s cultural and creative offering and contribute significant economic and social benefits to both the city and the State. This follows on from Stage 2 of the Geelong Performing Arts Centre Redevelopment, a $38.5 million project currently underway and due to be completed in late-2019.

The completed Stage 3 redevelopment will realise an exceptional and contemporary arts campus that transforms the arts and cultural landscape not only for Geelong, but for the region and Victoria. The design will complement Stage Two’s making spaces, where new work is fostered, nurtured and explored and will integrate beautifully into a performing arts centre for the future. This stage will deliver new theatres, performance spaces, restaurants, bars, cafes and will become a landmark.

Collectively, Stages 2 and 3 will deliver new and enhanced facilities that will vastly improve visitor experience, further activate Geelong’s Cultural Precinct and provide a more diverse offering to cater for a wider audience. Stage 3 will specifically deliver a new 500 seat drama theatre, new 250 seat courtyard theatre, black box theatre, outdoor atrium, dining options, an upgraded box office and refurbished back of house and administration facilities.

Construction is planned to commence in 2020 and be completed by 2023.

Development Victoria is responsible for the delivery of Stage 3 of the Geelong Performing Arts Centre Redevelopment and is seeking Registrations of Interest from Architectural practices that meet the following criteria:

1. Currently registered on the Construction Supplier Register for construction works and services in Victorian Government construction projects.
2. Prequalified for projects over the value of $100 million
3. Have demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of theatres, performance venues and / or major civic or public building projects.

Please register your interest online via Buying for Victoria website by 2pm Thursday 9 May 2019 demonstrating that you meet the required criteria outlined (limiting your response to 2 pages):

• by providing pre-qualification details for the Construction Supplier Register (CSR number, validity date and value of prequalification)
• providing a brief outline of relevant design projects (name of project, very brief description, value and year completed - no graphics or images to be included).
