The Victorian Health and Human Services Building Authority (VHHSBA) is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified and experienced parties to develop the design, prepare contract documentation and provide contract administration services for a new greenfield 20 bed Youth Prevention and Recovery Care service (YPARC) project in north west metropolitan Melbourne.

The YPARC is a short-term (up to 28 days), subacute, intervention and recovery focused clinical treatment services based in residential settings. This service is needing to be designed to address the needs of a specific target group of young people with significant mental health problems and disorders enabling earlier engagement and intervention in the context of their illness.

VHHSBA is looking to create an exemplary 20 bed facility that is welcoming, therapeutic and supportive, in recognition of the recovery benefits that a human scale and welcoming atmosphere provide. The design response will create a flexible and legible spatial arrangement with clear sight lines to support passive supervision and include small and intimate spaces that facilitate connection.
