Austin Health is one of Victoria’s largest health care providers. Comprising the Austin Hospital, Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital and Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre, Austin Health is a major teaching and research centre with numerous university and research institute affiliations.
Austin Health Radiology department provides imaging services for inpatients and outpatients at all three campuses. Services provided include general radiology, computer tomography (CT) and Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The department employs 54 (40 EFT) Patient Service Assistants (PSAs) to bring patients from the wards to the imaging department and return them at the end of their investigation. The allocation of tasks to PSAs is done through a manual, paper based, system. This is inefficient because PSAs have to return to base to collect the next task. It means that there is no data kept on PSA task allocation and turnaround times, and so there is no information available to help managers run their operation more effectively.
This RFI is looking for a partner that can provide a solution which makes the movement of radiology patients to and from wards more efficient and effective, and provides management information about PSA tasks allocated and completed, by:
