School councils play a key role in Victorian government schools. As the governing body, a school council can positively influence the quality of education provided to students in their school.  It is critical that to support good governance school council members fully understand the role of school councils and their responsibilities.

DET seeks a supplier to organise and deliver the (non-mandatory) face-to-face training of school councillors throughout Victoria using DET's existing Improving School Governance (ISG) training package for between one and three years. The supplier will also be required to organise and deliver online facilitation of training as DET begins to roll out options for online study of the ISG materials.
