Description

Peninsula Health (PH) is the primary provider of health care to the residents of Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula.

The Prosthetic service delivers Inpatient and Outpatient services to amputee clients. Both Inpatient and Outpatient services are to be delivered by a contracted Prosthetist appointed through an Invitation process.

The Prosthetist will be supported by a multi-disciplinary Amputee Clinic, which will be led by a PH Rehabilitation Consultant.
Outpatients over the age of 65 will be provided with prostheses, consumables and prosthetic repairs via Victorian Artificial Limb Program (VALP) funding.

Outpatients under the age of 65 may be eligible for funding under the national Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).  Those patients who are eligible for NDIS funding will be provided with NDIS pre-planning support and will be eligible to access the PH Prosthetic multi-disciplinary Clinic but will access prosthetic manufacture, repair and consumables from a private prosthetic provider of their choice.
Under 65 year old clients who are not eligible for NDIS funding will continue to receive VALP funded services.

The outpatient services required include casting, manufacturing, fitting and repair of prosthetics for PH patients, clients and eligible clients of the Prosthetic Service.
