The project scope is as follows:

  • Supply and commission of blood glucose / ketone meters and associated consumables including:
    •  Traditional POC devices
    •  Bidirectional connectivity POC devices.
  • Integration of connectivity meters with LIS.
  • Liaison of barcoded armbands with the POC devices.
  • Ongoing training of the pathology and clinical staff responsible for meter and software use.
  • Preventive and remedial maintenance post installation over next 5 years.

Note: 1. Monash Health reserves the right to:

  • Select the optimum mix of connectivity and handheld meters or acquire only connectivity meters
  • Select the optimum mix of glucose only, ketone only and blood glucose ketone meters or acquire only blood glucose ketone meters.
  • Appoint one or multiple suppliers for connectivity and handheld meters for each type of meter.
  • Implement the devices in a phased manner.

2. Monash Health will require a physical demonstration and/or a clinical evaluation of the equipment during the reference site.

3. The cost of the consumables should be inclusive of the devices including support, maintenance and integration with LIS.
