Western Health provides a comprehensive, integrated range of services from its various sites; ranging from acute tertiary services in areas of emergency medicine, intensive care, medical and surgical services, through to subacute care and specialist ambulatory clinics. Western Health provides a combination of hospital and community-based services to aged, adult and paediatric patients and newborn babies.

Western Health is proposing to replace the existing Lift Nos. 7, 9 & 10 at Sunshine Hospital.  Lift No.7, 9 & 10 are traction type lifts. The lifts are to be upgraded to current technology variable frequency and variable speed equipment, for the purposes of primarily providing passenger and patient lift service. The extent of the upgrade work shall encompass the design, documentation, manufacture, supply, delivery, installation, testing, commissioning and 12 months defects period comprehensive maintenance of the specified lifts with all minor and ancillary work (whether mentioned or not), as necessary to meet the true intent and meaning of this specification.

All Works to be fully compliant with the current relevant Australian Standards AS 1735.1 – 10 - 12, relevant Statutory Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, BCA and AEA Code of Practice.

The extent of work broadly comprises, but not limited to the following:

• Replacement of hoist equipment
• Installation of new lift controllers and trailing cables
• Occupational Health and Safety items
• New Car Operating Panels and indicators
• New landing indication
• Ancillary equipment replaced and retained to meet the requirements of this specification
• Comprehensive maintenance prior to and during the upgrade period
