The high capacity metro trains (HCMTs) will be delivered as an ‘availability based’ public private partnership project. Under this contract, the Supplier will be required to design, build, commission and finance 65 new HCMTs, together with a new train depot (consisting of a train maintenance facility (TMF) and stabling yard) in Pakenham East, a new light service facility (LSF) in Calder Park and 2 simulators. The Supplier will also be required to maintain the 65 HCMTs and to operate and maintain the TMF, LSF, and simulators over a 30 year (approx.) maintenance phase . |
