The current 10 year licence to operate keno games in the State of Victoria, issued under the Gambling Regulation Act 2003 (Vic), expires in April 2022.

The Department of Justice and Community Safety (department) is now issuing a request calling for expressions of interest (EOI) from suitable gaming operators who wish to be considered to be invited to apply for the post-2022 Keno licence in Victoria.

The new Keno licence will allow the licensee to:

• conduct keno games in Victoria;
• distribute keno games in hotels, clubs and wagering outlets; and
• distribute keno games electronically.

Interested parties will need to respond to the EOI request, demonstrating, at a high level, their suitability to operate keno and responding to a number of options being considered by the department in relation to the term and exclusivity of the new keno licence.
