The Victorian WorkCover Authority (VWA) is mandated by legislation to control and monitor specific Occupational Health and Safety risks, as well as public safety.  WorkSafe Victoria is an arm of the VWA which focuses on the prevention and reduction of workplace injury and disease through the strategies of advising, monitoring and enforcing.  The Licensing and Registration business areas support these requirements through:

 

• Granting of licences, certificates, authorisations, approvals, exemptions and determinations, and
•  Collection of data via notifications and registrations, which is then used for monitoring and in programs to target specific risks.

Our Information Technology strategy is heavily focused on the systematic consolidation, replacement and improvement of our core business systems under a program called System Renewal. The primary aim of this program is to ensure that our business and information systems meet the needs of the Victorian WorkCover Authority and the public of Victoria and support enhanced modes of service delivery into the future.
As part of this program the Authority is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from providers of commercially available solutions which could support the Licensing and Registration functions of the Authority.  The EOI responses will be used to evaluate and shortlist parties who will be invited to participate in a Request for Tender (RFT), accordingly, any party who does not respond to the EOI will not be eligible to participate in the RFT.  The EOI, issued 1 February 2006, requires respondents to lodge submissions by 01 March 2006.
