The Department of Human Services is seeking tenders from capable and experienced organisations to develop, implement and evaluate a sentinel surveillance system for chlamydia, HIV and hepatitis C in Victoria.
The purpose of this project is to strengthen the Department’s ability to monitor trends in chlamydia, HIV and hepatitis C infections among key risk groups in order to inform public health action.
- The key risk groups to be focused on are men who have sex with men, injecting drug users and youth.
- The sentinel system to be developed, implemented and evaluated will comprise a maximum of 20 sites.
- Sites located in metropolitan, regional and rural Victoria must be included as must at least two sites that assist a large number of Indigenous clients.
- The contract for this project will run for three years.
