Austin Health, one of Victoria's largest health care providers, is located on multiple campuses in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne.  Our three main campuses are Austin Hospital (Studley Road, Heidelberg), Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital (Banksia Street, Heidelberg West) and Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre (Yarra Boulevard, Kew).  

The Victorian Respiratory Support Service (VRSS) was established in 1996 as a statewide service based at Austin Health. The service provides ongoing support for individuals who require long term assisted ventilation. The service is largely community based and currently has approximately 430 patients in the community who are ventilator dependent. The needs of these patients range from invasive 24-hour ventilation to non-invasive nocturnal ventilation. VRSS also provides limited inpatient facilities for some patients.

This tender specifically addresses the requirements related to the community based components of the service particularly the maintenance and care of the ventilators.
