The VCAA has responsibility for the conduct of the Achievement Improvement Monitor (AIM), a Statewide assessment program based on the Victorian Essential Learning Standards for primary and secondary schools in Victoria.  Each year, Years 3, 5 and 7 students in approximately 2,500 Government, Catholic and Independent schools undertake the AIM tests in English and Mathematics.  Approximately 60,000 students per year level sit the AIM tests.  In 2007, Years 3, 5 and 7 AIM tests will take place in early August.
