Description

Background
The Department of Education currently provides a medical advisory service to support principals and workplace managers in the discharge of their responsibilities in relation to employee health. DE&T
contracted the services of Unified Healthcare Group to provide a medical advisory service for the purposes outlined above.  As this contract is now nearing its expiry date, tenders are now being
requested from suitably qualified organisations for provision of the service.

Scope of tender
DE&T is seeking the services of an organisation capable of providing a statewide telephone medical advisory service to school principals and other workplace managers in order to better support them
in the discharge of their responsibilities in relation to employee health.
The successful provider will not be required to conduct pre-employment medical assessments or independent medical assessments for the purpose of determining fitness for duty or fitness to teach.

 Purpose of tender
The aim of the service is to assist principals and workplace managers
• to better support and manage employees whose behaviour, work performance and/or attendance patterns are emerging as a matter of concern and may be health related.
• to better support and manage employees who have been absent and there are difficulties in managing their return to work.
• manage the pre-employment medical process more effectively.
• Manage the independent medical examination for the purpose of fitness for duty more effectively.
