Description

The Opportunity

South East Water is a provider of water, sewerage, trade waste and water saving services for residents and businesses in an area ranging from the South East of Melbourne to South Gippsland. We are one of Melbourne’s three water retailers owned by the Victorian Government.

South East Water is seeking responses to this invitation for the provision of goods and/or services as outlined in Part A.2 – Specifications.

Current Position: The Service Delivery team is responsible for Product Quality within South East Water (SEW). Standalone internal systems and spreadsheets are being used by SEW to plan, organise, manage, track, and report on sampling to deliver safe and reliable water to our customers while maintaining compliant with regulations. These internal systems have limited capabilities and cannot be enhanced which results in manual intervention to accomplish the tasks. External parties (e.g., accredited laboratories and sample collection services) play a critical role in delivering this program while faced with several operational challenges.

There are four Models that currently fall into this product quality category. These are:

  • Water Quality
  • Treatment Plant sampling
  • Trade Waste sampling
  • Environmental Sampling

Overarching Objectives: SEW is looking to streamline and automate the current databases, spreadsheets and other electronic systems through the implementation of a fit for purpose Sample Management System (SMS) that will be secured, supported, scalable and delivers efficiencies and enhanced governance of the product quality sampling regime.
