This Procurement Opportunity
The Department of Education (the department) is in the process of selecting additional early childhood services to deliver a Bilingual Kindergarten program commencing Term 1 in 2024. The Early Childhood Language Program (ECLP) provides funding for early childhood services to employ a suitably qualified language teacher to deliver part of their four-year-old state-funded kindergarten program in a language other than English. The ECLP is currently delivered in around 220 early childhood services, in 20 different languages (including five Aboriginal languages and Auslan) and reaches around 8,000 children a year at no cost to parents. There was a need to provide an ECLP Quality Support Program (QSP) to continue embedding and extending language teachers’ foundational skills.
