Description
The Department is seeking to engage a suitable higher education provider (i.e. university, TAFE or Registered Training Organisation that is a registered higher education providers under the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011) or a supplier to design, develop, deliver and evaluate an online professional development program, containing two courses (which may be university courses or micro-credentials) to support:
(1) aspiring and new early childhood Educational Leaders, and
(2) experienced Educational Leaders.
The focus of the courses must be on practical, evidence-based skills and techniques to support Educational Leaders. Both courses within the program will require educational/pedagogical leadership skill development components on:
- leadership skills, change management theory and facilitating effective team-teaching in the early childhood context
- facilitating high quality play-based learning through teaching teams that reflects the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and evidence-based early childhood pedagogy and practice including intentional teaching
- effective observation and assessment in teaching teams in the early years, including the planning cycle
- leading reflective practice with evidence.
The successful supplier will work with the Department to consider the impact of, and make linkages to support, the Victorian early childhood reform agenda as part of this professional development program, including, but not limited to:
- implementation of Pre-Prep and Three-Year-Old Kindergarten
- improving outcomes for educationally disadvantaged children through School Readiness Funding
- importance of assessment and engagement with the Early Years Assessment and Learning Tool.
