The Department of Education is pleased to announce an upcoming open market Statement of Requirements for the procurement of science education software title/s as part of the Software for Connected Learners (SfCL) initiative, formerly known as Software for Schools (SfS). The SfCL initiative aims to provide Victorian government schools with access to high-quality, Victorian Curriculum F-10-aligned software and digital content to support the development of contemporary ICT skills among students, and the delivery of the Victorian Curriculum F–10, the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), and the Victorian Pathways Certificate. 

Purpose 

The software title/s will be available to all Year 7-10 students in Victorian government schools and all Victorian government school staff teaching science to students in Years 7-10. This procurement aims to ensure access to high-quality science education software for Victorian government school students and staff, increase the capacity of teachers to deliver digital learning experiences, enhance student creativity and learning outcomes, and foster the development of digital skills in preparation for future workforce requirements. 

Proposed Term 

The procurement of science software title/s is planned to be for an initial two-year period, from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2025, plus options for two one-year extensions until as late as 31 December 2027. 

Release Date 

The Department’s Statement of Requirements is expected to be released on 31 May 2023.  

This will be announced on BFVTP, and the documents will be available through the DE Supplier Portal (Oracle). 

Fair Jobs Code Pre-Assessment Certification 

The Victorian Government’s Fair Jobs Code (FJC) will be applicable to this Statement of Requirements, and responding suppliers will be required to hold FJC Pre-Assessment Certification as a mandatory requirement for the submission of a valid response. 

Suppliers are strongly encouraged to commence the certification process prior to the formal release of this Statement of Requirements if they have not already gained certification. This will help to ensure that no unforeseen delays with the certification process limit your ability to respond to this Statement of Requirements.
