Austin Health’s current general Sterile Store is located within the operating suites floor in level 2 of the Harold Stokes Building (HSB).  In relocating the sterile store department, it will alleviate space on the floor level for the new Consolidated Endoscopy Centre.

The operating theatre team currently utilises the level 2 Sterile Stores as their pick point for clinical use. With this relocation there will be a requirement to design and construct a new sterile storeroom within the level 2 operating theatre complex.

The new Consolidated Endoscopy Centre will be built in the existing sterile store and forms part of the scope of work of this project.  the project is required to be staged to enable the relocation of the sterile store to make way for the new endoscopy centre.

The overall scope of work for this project entails the refurbishment of existing spaces on both Level 2 and 3 of HSB.  In addition, a new plantroom is also required on Level 4 of HSB.  Please refer to floor plans for details of the works on 3 floor levels of HSB.

The construction includes but not limited to:

• Demolition of existing and construction of new walls, floors, and ceilings.
• Upgrade existing and provide new services (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire) as required.
• New structure erection, wall and roof claddings, structural steel and roof plumbing.
• Working within a live operational and clinical environment.
• Working in multiple stages to accommodate hospital operations.
• Liaison and communication with a large group of stakeholders and competing requirements.
• Liaison and management of medical equipment delivery and installation.

Contractors interested in tendering for the work is required to have extensive knowledge and experience with working within an operational tertiary health facility.

The contractors is required to have had experience in working and managing specialised trades and equipment installation.  This includes nominated hospital contractors.

Interested tenderers also need to be registered with Austin Health iPro Certification in addition to DTF construction Supplier Registration List.

Contractor must agree to sign the Austin construction contract unamended.
