The Victorian Government is investing $541.6 million to redevelop and expand the Ballarat Base Hospital (BBH). The redevelopment will be completed over multiple stages. Stage 1 works have been completed with Stage 2 works underway and due to be completed in 2024. Construction of the final stage, known as Stage 3 Main Works, is expected to be completed in 2027.

A further $54m funding was announced in March 2023 to enable the expansion of the existing multideck carpark and the relocation of the existing helipad to the new inpatient tower, increasing the Ballarat Base Hospital Redevelopment (BBHR). 

An expansion of the existing multideck carpark, located in the north-western corner of the site, will significantly increase parking at the BBH site to support the needs of patients, staff and visitors.

The expansion works include vertical expansion of the BBH existing multideck carpark by approximately 400 car spaces and will be completed concurrently with Ballarat Base Hospital Redevelopment (BBHR) Stage 2 Works. The works are expected to be completed in early-2024 prior to commencement of Stage 3 Works.
