Description
Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital has two gas fired boilers located on the southwest side of the site in Bldg 56 (aka Boiler House Bldg)
The boilers are considered critical to the functionality of the hospital, as they are the primary source of energy for heating, cooling, humidification, sterilisation and cooking.
Both boilers have cracked combustion chambers and are releasing products of combustion (carbon dioxide) into the Boiler House. Both boilers are beyond end of life and pose a significant risk of failure.
The objective of this project is to:
- Austin Health seeks submissions from qualified Building Contractors for the replacement of two 6MW gas fired boilers, including associated equipment and pipework located in the Boiler House Bldg at the Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital.
- Austin Health has instructed for the documentation to implement a staged methodical approach in the replacement of the two boilers, associated equipment and other works (to ensure compliancy based on current codes and Australian Standards is achieved).
- The Boiler House Bldg roof structure is aged and rusted. Temporary OH&S works to support the roof structure from collapsing have been undertaken. Replacement of the existing roof structure and treatment of existing horizontal beams to be undertaken.
Both the Contractor and all Trades shall:
▪ Have a full understanding of all design and reference documentation and guidelines and to certify that the Works have been undertaken in compliance with that documentation, those guidelines and the other requirements of this Agreement.
▪ Formally raise any queries concerning documentation in which there is doubt for clarification prior to submission of tenders.
▪ Recognise that variations will not be considered valid as a consequence of misunderstanding or lack of clarity in the specification and other Contract Documents.
▪ Be entitled to propose substitutions in accordance with the applicable reference in this Specification.
Note: Tenderers are required to submit financials only in Vol1 Part2. No other place in tender documents are to to filled with lumpsum or breakdown amount.
