The Nursery Equipment Program (NEP) is a state-wide service that promotes access to safe equipment and products for eligible families. The program aims to improve infant safety through the delivery, installation and, or assembly of safe cots and car seats for families experiencing financial insecurity. Products are ordered by Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Nurses who identify eligible families. These are then delivered to the cot assembler or qualified car seat fitter for assembly and installation, respectively. MCH nurses are notified once the service has been completed. MCH services are managed by 79 Local Governments with approximately 1500 MCH nurses across Victoria. In addition, 15 Aboriginal MCH services operate across Victoria.
The Department of Health will be seeking a suitably qualified and experienced NEP service provider to provide timely end to end service delivery for nursery equipment supported by a secure, confidential electronic portal that delivers high-quality customer service to eligible families.
