The Opportunity

The Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership (the Academy) is responsible for the provision of professional learning to equip existing school leaders with the confidence and capabilities necessary to achieve accreditation as a coach and deliver adaptive coaching aligned to their school’s key improvement strategies and annual implementation plan. The Coach Accreditation course will lead to an internationally recognised coach accreditation. Participants will gain the skills and knowledge to be expert small group coaches and deliver adaptive coaching aligned to their school’s key improvement strategies and annual implementation plan. Importantly, the course will also align with the Framework for Improving Student Outcomes (FISO 2.0). The course is an opportunity to build school principals’ coaching competency which is essential to developing internal capability and capacity and support a coaching culture within their school that leads to a safe learning environment where students and teachers can achieve their best.

The Organisation is seeking responses to this Invitation for the provision of services to deliver the Coach Accreditation course as outlined in Part A.2 – Specifications.

Introduction

The Victorian Government has invested in the development of a new statutory authority – the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership (the Academy). The Academy will deliver an Australian-first program of advanced professional learning for high performing teachers across the education sector and leadership excellence programs building on the existing work and reputation of Bastow Institute of Educational Leadership. Bastow was incorporated into the new Academy 1 January 2022.

As part of this investment, funding has been allocated to develop and deliver targeted professional learning for school leaders in Victorian Government Schools. The Coach Accreditation course will deliver coaching training and international coach accreditation to 160 school principals and assistant principals.

Engagement terms:

This procurement seeks to engage a supplier for one contract term of one year commencing in June 2022 and ending in June 2023, with the potential of a further one-year contract for the design and delivery of the Coach Accreditation professional learning course consisting of multiple components which are outlined in this document.
