The proposed works are aimed to remediate eleven (11) steel beacons and one (1) concrete structure located in the West Channel in Port Phillip Bay.

The aid to navigation structures serve to enhance the safety of navigation in the channel via providing all-weather means of identification of vessel position and safe course.

The structures have reached a point in their service life where remediation is required, Parks Victoria is intending to release a Request for Tender to undertake remediation works that will entail the removal and replacement of five top masts  and seven access ladders, including replacement of navigation lanterns and concrete repair works.  Works will also include the installation of petrolatum tape and protective (green/red coloured) HDPE jacket from top mast flange connection to 1m below Lowest Astronomical Tide (LAT) where new masts installed, and the installation of new anodes.

Parks Victoria is seeking proposals from suitably qualified maritime contractors that can deliver the above works in accordance with the project specifications, and performance criteria
