Scope of Supply

The key deliverable of this tender involves the provision of the upgrade of Upgrade of Medical Air System at Monash Medical Centre. The works include installing new compressors, new desiccant dryers to replace the existing ones, and installing additional controls to monitor/control the medical air system in accordance with Standards. The replacement strategy generally includes the supply and installation of new equipment having matching capacities to the existing systems. The works also include a new medical air supply switchboard with integral automatic transfer switch assembly and new power supplies to the new medical air plant.

The mechanical installer will take the lead role as the Main contractor to actively coordinate with the electrical installer and liaise with and work in conjunction with Monash Health during the installation. The project must be delivered with a methodical sequence to minimize any disruptions and risks and not disrupt the daily operation of the medical air system serving the hospital.

The key deliverable of this project is the completion of these works on time and within the allocated budget. Based on the complexity of the project it has been determined to appoint a single contractor to achieve the following objectives:

• Timely completion of works
• Ensure quality of works at each stage of the project
• Manage the effort and risk relating to engagement of multiple contractors
• Control project cost
