Located in the Gippsland region approximately 145 kilometres southeast of Greater Melbourne, Wilsons Promontory was Victoria’s first National Park. With over half a million visitors per year, it ranks among the state’s most visited and most loved nature-based tourism destinations. Local, interstate, and international visitors flock to “The Prom” to camp, hike, swim and enjoy the populations of wildlife and the environment.
The park is part of an Aboriginal cultural landscape and Parks Victoria respects the deep and continuing connection that Traditional Owners have to these lands and waters, and we recognise their ongoing role in caring for Country.
Parks Victoria provides numerous facilities within the Wilsons Promontory National Park to enhance the visitor experience. Public interest in the area has put pressure on existing infrastructure.
The Victorian Government has invested in the Wilsons Promontory Revitalisation Project to relieve this pressure, enhance the visitor experience at The Prom, and support Gippsland’s economic and social recovery from the impacts of recent catastrophic events (including COVID-19 and bushfires), through job creation and by renewing the region’s nature-based visitor economy.
One of the subprojects is to provide three studio roofed accommodation units to replace existing facilities at Tidal River.
Parks Victoria is intending to release a Request for Tender for the supply and installation of prefabricated, modular, or assembled on-site accommodation for these locations. The accommodation may need customization and must suitable to the location, inclusive of a BAL 29 rating.
This will be a public Request for Tender available on the Buying for Victoria website.
Parks Victoria will be seeking proposals from suitably qualified contractors that can supply, customize and install accommodation units in accordance with a project specification which will include a desired footprint, design criteria, BAL 29 rating and required inclusions for the relevant site location.
This is an Advanced Tender Notice, stay tuned for the "Request for Tender".
To ensure a fair process, Parks Victoria will not be responding to enquiries for this Request for Tender until it is publicly released to market.
