The Victorian Government, as represented by the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (DJPR) intends to issue an Invitation to Participate to supply mobile connectivity services, as part of the Victorian Government’s $550 million Connecting Victoria initiative.
The Victorian Government has allocated $300 million to the Connecting Victoria Mobile Program. Grants will be available to co-fund investments that improve public mobile services at eligible locations across Victoria. Both mobile network operators and infrastructure providers will be eligible, subject to meeting specific criteria.
DJPR expects the grants to be administered across two stages:
- Stage 1: within Q2 of FY2021/22
- Stage 2: Q3-Q4 of FY2021/22.
DJPR is conducting a Request for Information process (ref: RFI DJPR – MP – 001) to inform the final approach adopted in the Invitation to Participate, and ensure the Victorian Government is poised to take advantage of any new, innovative opportunities that align with the Mobile Program objectives.
The RFI relates to both stages of the mobile program, and all interested parties are encouraged to participate.
An industry briefing occurred on Tuesday 14 September 2021. Please refer to RFI DJPR – MP – 001 for:
- An aural recording of the industry briefing, and copy of the presentation provided at the briefing
- A response to questions and answers received regarding the RFI and upcoming market engagement, as at 16 September 2021.
Issue Date: An Invitation to Participate will be issued in Q2 of FY2021/22
