Rail Projects Victoria (a division of the Major Transport Infrastructure Authority) intends to call for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for the South Geelong to Waurn Ponds Duplication Project (the Project) in January 2021 via the Tenders VIC website.
The Project is the next stage of investment on the Geelong Line that will upgrade infrastructure between South Geelong and Waurn Ponds to enable more frequent and reliable services for passengers.
The Project is expected to consist of track duplication and signalling upgrades between South Geelong and Waurn Ponds, upgrades at South Geelong and Marshall stations and grade separations at Surf Coast Highway and Fyans Street.
Interested parties must be registered and meet the pre-qualification requirements in order to fully participate in the procurement process. Following the release of the Invitation for EOI, only pre-qualified parties will be provided access to additional supporting EOI documentation via an Electronic Data Room. The purpose of the EOI Phase is for RPV to select Shortlisted Respondents to participate in the Request for Proposal Phase who have the proven experience, capability and capacity to deliver the Project and who are aligned with RPV’s commercial and legal framework for the WPD Project delivery. In their EOI Response, pre-qualified parties will be required to demonstrate relevant experience, their understanding of the project, proposed delivery approach and program, as well as their acceptance of RPV’s terms and conditions.
The following indicative dates apply to the procurement process:
- Date of release of the pre-qualification document: 4 January 2021
- EOI release (via www.tenders.vic.gov.au): Access will be made available to supporting EOI documentation (via Electronic Data Room to pre-qualified parties only) from the date of EOI release.
