The Department of Health and Human Services is intending to release a Request for Tender in January 2021 for the provision of pest control services to high rise public housing buildings in Melbourne. The contract will include the management of rats, mice and cockroaches in high-rise public housing buildings by a fully qualified and experienced pest control operator. The management of these pests is to occur in the areas of the buildings that are not inhabited by residents. These areas include plant rooms (that contain machinery and equipment to service the building), rubbish collection areas, communal laundries and clothes drying rooms. This will be an open public tender and tender participants will need to complete a Local Industry Development Plan (LIDP) as part of Local Jobs First requirements. Site visits will be held at a number of high-rise buildings with important information being provided to Tenderers including the size and layout of public housing buildings, the areas in which services are required and an outline of security, access and egress protocols.
