The Food Safety Reforms Program 2018-21 was established by the Department of Health and Human Services (hereafter referred to as ‘the department’) to undertake the recommendations made by the Small Business Regulation Retail Sector Review 2016-18in relation to the regulation of Victorian food businesses under the Food Act 1984 (hereafter referred to as ‘the Act’).
A key recommendation of the Review is to develop and implement an improved registration process for business through Food Act Registration as a Digital Service (‘the solution’). The department requires this to be delivered under the FoodTrader project via the introduction of an online registration portal and compliance management platform for use by food businesses, Victorian municipal councils, the department, and other users involved in the regulatory management of food businesses.
The department is seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced vendor to develop, implement the Foodtrader solution, and to provide ongoing system support services including licensing and maintenance.
