Description

North East Water are upgrading the Beechworth sewerage transfer network to address system capacity constraints and cater for future growth of the township.

The works that form part of this tender include:

•Detailed design and approvals;

•New pump station;

•cast in-situ reinforced concrete wet well structure, valve pits, pumps and associated pipework and fittings;

•An upgrade of power supply at the sewer pump station site;

•A new electrical switchboard and switch room shed;

•Integration of on-site power generation to supply sufficient power in the event of power failure and associated building works;

•A vehicle access upgrade into the pump station site;

•New permanent fencing and security for the site;

•A new 4.3km trunk main to transfer sewerage to the existing Beechworth WWTP; and

•A new break-pressure structure mid-point along the trunk main – where trunk main transitions from a rising main to a gravity main.

These works need to be completed while maintaining a functional sewer outfall at the Church Street site.

North East Water is now inviting interested parties to tender for the design and construction of this scope of works as detailed in the preliminary drawings and specification provided.

The award of this contract will be subject to final approvals from Indigo Shire and Parks Victoria.

North East Water has completed a preliminary design that will be issued as part of an RfT to the open market seeking to engage a Principal Contractor under a design and construct contract to deliver this project.

North East Water requires a Principal Contractor that must have a supplier management system that is fully certified by a certifying body against one of the standards / assurance systems listed by both the Department of Treasury & Finance (DTF) and WorkSafe. For contracts of less than $500k the tenderer must be able to demonstrate compliance with DTF’s 12 point evaluation criteria. A detailed guide on the mandatory OHS management criteria is available on the DTF’s Practitioners Toolkit – Document library page (located towards the bottom of the webpage).
