item 5.3 In this example, the IV poles on the left and the right stand inside a foot holder (at the base) and a claw at the top securing the IV pole.
Just below the IV’s foot holder you can see a “CL” for clamp either side of the pendant and under the IV pole. The clinical staff would typically use these to thread IV lines and or other tubing (Oxygen) through to keep the patient clear of the lines and tubing as well as protecting tention and strain on lines when turning the patient. They are important in keeping the bed-head and patient area tidy and avoiding accidental dis-connects, etc.
NB. There are two here as the illustration has an IV pole on each side of the pendant arm.
