Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) is a dedicated government body charged with planning and delivering a portfolio of major road project upgrades for Victoria. Recently established in July 2018, MRPA is an administrative office under the Office of the Coordinator General and Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources.
MRPA currently oversees the delivery of the Programme of work, which includes pipeline of major road projects around metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. The Programme includes new roads, road widenings, new bridges and major freeway upgrades.
The key purpose of the Programme is to improve productivity by reducing congestion and travel times, improve safety, connect communities and improve the standard of roads.
Some examples of current projects in the Programme, which are either in the planning or delivery stages, include:
- Monash Freeway Upgrade
- Suburban Roads Upgrade
- Mordialloc Freeway
- Chandler Highway Upgrade
- Echuca-Moama Bridge crossing duplication
MRPA will continue to introduce new projects into the Programme over time. The Contractor may be engaged to under Project Services for one or more Projects in the Programme in accordance with the terms of this Contract.
